Purpose of XML site Map:
How could I able to
understand my website? And how could a search engine able to understand my website? Yes. An XML site map is used for both two questions
an XML site map is a list
out what are all key points (pages)are used on our website.
XML Sitemap
v A XML Sitemap is an XML file that contains all the pages
URL of the website.
v Along
with URL, it also contains page information about their priority, how often it will be
changed or modified.
v This file helps to search engines crawl all the URLs of a site
easily.
Don't Forget:
- If you change any content on your website then immediately create sitemap file and upload it on Cpanel.
XML site map Generation:
1. Type XML sitemaps.com in Google Search Bar.
2. Copy your website URL and Paste it on that search
box.
3. Click more options below the start button.
4. Enable the “page last modification” attribute.
5. Enable automatically calculate the “Page Priority” attribute.
6. Enable Always option for pages “change frequency” attribute.
7. Then click the start button.
Important tips:
1. XML Site map
– Create a site map for 500 pages only.
2. Nimtools.com
– Create a site map for up to 5000 pages.
Settings on Nimtool.com:
1. Type nimtools.com in Google search bar.
2. You may select up to
5000 pages and set the following settings.
3. How can we check
previously Exists one (www.example.com/sitemap.xml)
4. Then check all pages
or newly created pages are a display or not?
5. If it’s not updated
means update through Cpanel.
6. Select XML sitemap generator under website
Management tools.
7. Set change frequency
as Always.
8. Set default priority
as 1.
9. Click Modify date
and put today date or the date which
are going to modify.
10. Enter the domain name.
11. Click Generate Sitemap.
12. Once your site map
file downloaded login Cpanel.
13. Go to File Manager.
14. Click public _html.
15. Upload the
downloaded Site map file there.
16. It will ask
replacing an existing one? or not?
17. Click Yes.
18.Now you have to
check newly created pages that exist or not (www.example.com/sitemap.xml).
19. You can see the modification date, Modification priority and Frequency in the XML file.
Once you have finished
this immediately go to webmaster option (google.com/webmasters)
1. Click Sign in.
2. Select your website (www.odmtc.blogspot.com).
3. Click the sitemaps menu
option.
4. Check previous no.of
page URL.
5. Then type in that
search box like(https://www.odmtc.blogspot.com/-------)
6. You just type the
sitemap.xml in that dotted line after a slash.
7. Click submit.
8. Now you can see
changed count of the number of pages URL (changed from 9 to 10)
Now copy the modified
page URL from the website and click the URL inspection menu in Google search console
dashboard
1. Paste the copied URL
in the Google search console search bar.
2. Click requesting
indexing.
Finally, click Test live
URL (previously that page is not available in Google. But after once click
Test Live URL, that page is visible in Google
search results)
